Description: Artist Justin Ronberg often paints Aboriginal totemic spirits in the form of animals and reptiles, as a means of honouring his ancestor’s Dreamings. Here, the snake has found a waterhole and is surrounded by ‘star bursts’ which represent the spiked, spinifex grass found throughout Ronberg’s desert country. The other circular shapes are representative of the wildflowers that emerge in bursts of colour from July to September.
