Description: Reggie Sultan depicts the Aboriginal Dreamtime story of the Seven Sisters. When seven sisters travelled down from the Milky Way to Earth, they wandered around to find all of the natural wonders of the land: kangaroos, snakes, emus, creeks and waterholes. They soon came across seven hunters sat drinking from a waterhole. These hunters welcomed them, and quickly grew to fall in love with the sisters. As the sun went down, the sisters told the hunters they must return to the sky. As they began to run towards the Milky Way, one of the hunters grabbed a sister and pleaded for her to stay. With tears in her eyes, she waved goodbye and hurried to catch up. The painting depicts the stars of a night sky, where can still see this sister trying to catch up with the others.
