Ronan Walsh

Ireland

Ronan Walsh’s work focuses on capturing the human form in its revealing state. His art is an exploration of people.

From life studies or sittings of individuals, the artist sees stories revealed through the clutch of an expression, the pace of a walk, the plagiarist nature of an identity and how we evolve from the circumstances we encounter. Inspired mainly by observations of life in London, his works are normally stripped of external reference and aim to focus the viewer on the person or people within each piece, enlightening as opposed to answering the questions that may be posed.

Using a mix of acrylic and pencil on both board and canvas, Ronan’s style is an entanglement of detailed line and angular shapes, revealing the abstract fabric of the subject.

Ronan has exhibited work in both the UK and Ireland and currently lives and works in London.
