Joy Nangala Brown

Australia

Growing up in Yuendumu, one of Australia’s largest remote communities with a thriving community of Aboriginal artists, Joy Nangala Brown (b. 1966) often paints her mother, father and grandfather’s Dreamings. Typical to Aboriginal art, Brown paints the lands associated with her ancestor’s, often depicting the laws and features of the land, as well as the plants and animals that inhabit it.
